It's a really exciting time to join the FIrst Days Team. We are embarking on a new strategy, in new premises with some new team members. We have achieved a lot in the last year - and you can be part of achieving so much more. 


This role will build on the success of our fundraising over the last three years, which provides a strong foundation for the right candidate to bring their expertise, creativity and drive to match our strategic ambition in the years to come. 


We are looking for an experienced fundraiser to join our team as Head of Fundraising. You will work with the CEO to develop a robust fundraising plan that reflects the ambitions of the charity’s strategy over the next three years (and beyond) and work alongside the Community Fundraising Manager and volunteers, as well as the wider team, to embed this strategy. 


You will be results driven, have excellent knowledge of fundraising and a track record of securing large and high-profile grants. 


This role forms an integral part of the management team at First Days and will be central to the planned growth of the organisation in the years ahead. 


This is a permanent position, with a six month probation period. The role can be home based, anywhere in the country, however, once Covid restrictions are lifted we would anticipate some regular travel (once a month) to our head office in Wokingham Berkshire.

Volunteer Fundraising Administrator
2-3 hours per week, maximum. From home or from our new office in Central Wokingham (when it's safe to do so!)
We are looking for an administrator to join our team to assist our Fundraising Manager and CEO in fundraising. Tasks include: 
- Maintaining a database of donors and supporters
- Sending out a monthly newsletter
- Thanking donors for their donations
- Researching funding opportunities

Special Advisors 


At First Days we want to access the best advice, expertise and experience to help us develop our work. We are a charity, but we don’t like that word. We want First Days to look, feel and act like a business, the only difference is that we reinvest our profits for social gain. 


We know that your time is precious to you, and that being tied in to a charity as a trustee might seem like a life sentence rather than a chance to help in a meaningful way. So instead, we are looking for people to join our board as Special Advisors. This might be for a one off project, for a couple of months or for us to call on as and when we need your expertise. 


We are currently looking a Special Advisors who is a top class leader, for leadership guidance and mentoring.

We are looking for a trustee with financial experience, preferably an accountant, to take on the role of the Treasurer of the charity. This role requires you to attend five trustee meetings a year, help the charity’s finance manager compile the annual reports and support the staff team in making sure that all our financial reporting and systems are fit for purpose.
